Exchange Server reaches End of Life today. After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide technical support for problems that may occur with Exchange 2016 or Exchange 2019. For organizations still running On-Premises Exchange, time has run out on looking for a change.
Exchange Server 2016 and 2019 are therefore joining a longer list of products being retired, including Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft Office 2019, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2019, Skype for Business 2016, Skype for Business 2019, Skype for Business Server 2015, Skype for Business Server 2019, and Windows 10.
For organizations that had been using Exchange, Microsoft recommends migrating to the Cloud, either onto Exchange Online or Microsoft 365. Alternatively, users can upgrade in-place to Exchange Server Subscription Edition.
What’s next?
As previously mentioned, current users of Exchange Server are now under time crunch to figure out an alternative to their business needs, specifically their mailing and calendar services.
